Guess who has checked in to Frogner House Apartments-Skovveien 8 today??

Correct, yours truly!

I have been working here for two years now, first in the reception in Skovveien 8 and later as a Key Account Manager. My main work is to cooperate with our business clients. It has been a very exciting journey, building homes for our guests who are staying away from home.

Now that I am renovating my own apartment I really needed a temporary home…And what alternative could be better than to check out how it really feels to stay away from home in one of our apartments. And trust me, it’s really nice here, I feel like we are closer than ever for the recipe of that homey feeling, remember: “A house is made of walls and beams; but a home is built with love and dreams.”

Since I love music I will share some of my favourites with you now and then here on our blog. Starting with this beautiful song from David Gray, enjoy :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryoykj8us00

Have a great weekend everybody, nothing better than to curl up in a chair with a woollen blanket and a warm cup of tea this cold day in January!

Now we start again!

We have in a long time been telling ourselves to get our blog here on FHA up and going without much progress. On Wednesday, we had a so-called Studio Workshop with Tellus Works, a partner who helps us with marketing. The focus was social media and how to present the new and developed FHA in 2011.

This was a very interesting and positive day that gave us inspiration to start blogging. We will together contribute to make this blog interesting and show FHA from our everyday work including ideas and visions.

The four persons that will write for FHA has very varied work tasks and very different personalities, what we have in common is a focus on achieving goals! In order to describe more clearly who we are and what we will write about in the blog we ask a few questions to each of them, starting with our reception manager Mari Andersen.

Mari Andersen – Front Office manager
You got your hotel degree in Switzerland, can you share the most absurd incident from your time there?

I remember explaining to a festive friend of mine about the Norwegian tradition of ringing cowbells to cheer on our favourites in winter sport competitions (; it’s sort of our version of the vuvuzela). My friend though it was hillarious to ”borrow” a cowbell from one of the cows in the neighbourhood to cheer me on as I was strolling down the frostcovered Swiss elps in my most fashionable high heels. The next day, it was announced all over campus that one of the neighbours was missing an antique price awarded cowbell worth more than 1 million Norwegian Kroner ( apprx 160.000 USD) ! The suddenly highly respected cowbell was later discovered on one of the other cows from the same field, of course, but imagine having such assets attached to cows walking carelessly in the green! Only in Switzerland...

You are often looking for new apartments around the central Oslo, what requirements do you have for your dream apartment?

I’m looking for an apartment with soul! I love small architechtural features and time typical building styles that makes an apartment feel unique and give it personaity. At the same time, it is important that the lay-out is practical, and that there is enough storage to stowe away everything and anything you don’t want to keep on display. The dream is to get both a fireplace and a sunfilled balcony, so it’s lucky I’m not in any hurry to find a new place to live!

What topics do you think you will write mostly about in this blog?

I love art, books, film and theater, so I will try to provide some good tips on cultural enrichment. In addition, I have ”a guilty pleasure” in outrageous design clothes and accessories (they are art in my eyes), so a bit of frogner-fashion may sneak in now and then.
